Sex and Gender in California

Although I haven't been too pleased with Arnie the Governator's political comments about "girlie men," which, quite frankly, pissed me off, I do have to give the man some credit for a measure he just signed into law.

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed a bill into law that maintains "sex" in California to include Drag Queens, Cross Dressers, and Transsexuals.

SB 1234 of the Penal Code sections now defines "sex" and "gender" to include a person’s gender identity and gender-related appearance and behavior (whether or not stereotypically associated with the person’s assigned birth sex).

Schwarzenegger has been both praised and criticized by obvious sides in the issue.

Now if just MORE states would follow suit! (sigh)
