Halloween Costume Party Time!

There are a couple of things coming up in October, I thought I'd tell you about.

First off, Elise and I will be having a costume party on Halloween for our very close TG, Gay, and Lesbian friends. The weather hasn't gotten too chilly yet, so it'll be a BBQ affair on the back deck. I haven't thought of a "theme," however. More on that as we get closer.

International "Coming Out Day," is October 11th. Gay men, Lesbians, and the Transgendered are encouraged to come out and acknowledge their sexuality to their families and friends.

I got to thinking about "Coming Out Day," and it kind of made me sad, particularly for Transsexuals, because I'm a TS. For some, breaking the news can be very traumatic - on both sides of the coin. Yes, you actually DO lose some friends and family over this issue.

I recently read an article about two brothers in Singapore who became sisters. Surprisingly enough, both placed first and second in Singapore's "Miss Tiffany Singapore" pageant. It was Singapore's first-ever Transsexual beauty pagent. Jesse Rogers took the crown and her sister, Angel Hutchison, was first alternate.

Angel started cross dressing at 18, disappointing her parents, and Jesse followed in the same fashion (pardon the pun), five years later. Their family, apparently, was devastated. Their mother reportedly has started to accept them as women, but its a slow process.

Angel came out in 1993 and society wasn't as accepting as it is now...Not that its ALL THAT ACCEPTING, today, in my opinion!

By the way, both plan on having SRS in Bankok.
