Well, I have to admit, my fan sign contest went over like a fart in a space suit, LOL. I didn't give you much time, as it was just a spur of the moment idea, but it sounded fun. I'll tell you what, Sweeties, lets run it untill March 14th and see what happens, OK? I'll keep you posted.
Of course, the big news is "The" Oscars! Did you HONESTLY think they were going to let a movie centering on the relationship of a couple of Gay cowboys win the most prestigious award in Hollywood? Sure, there was alot of hype, overall, and a win WAS expected, but, as
usual, the motion picture industry failed us again...Several times, last night, as a matter of fact. However, I don't know what the big deal is about Gay cowboys, anyway. All you have to do is hang around any GLBT bar in Texas. When I was in Fort Worth, there were TONS of Gay cowboys AND cowgirls! I still think Brokeback
should have won.
The REAL shocker to me, was Felicity Huffman's loss of "Best Actress" for her performance in Transamerica. I havent seen the movie, but I've
viewed clips, seen her interviews, know the story line, and saw how much time and effort Felicity took to actually LEARN about
Transsexuality and excellently portray the role of Bree, a male to female TS. Although she is a GG (genetic gal), she is - most definitely - a
credit to the Transgendered Community. THAT was acting! Not just anyone can take on a role like that and pull it off. On the other hand, there was Reese Witherspoon, who WON that award. What the fuck was up with that? It doesn't take much talent (or acting ability) to play the wife of some hillbilly singer. Besides, she neither looked or sounded like "The Man in Black's" wife. Boo! Hiss!
And a final Karla "dis" to Jon Stewart. He's NOT funny. Not even on Comedy Central. He THINKS he is, but he's not. Not only was he out of place, but definitly out of his class. He needs to be flipping burgers somewhere, hoping he can actually get mustard on the bun. Hey Jon, S-L-O-W-L-Y practice these words carefully: "You want fries with that?"
