Southern Comfort Next Week in Atlanta
Southern Comfort is coming up next week in Atlanta. For those of you unaware, its probably THE largest U.S. convention for the Transgendered Community.
It'll be held at the Sheraton Midtown Colony Square, running September 29th through October 2nd. I have no affiliation with Southern Comfort, but I highly support the "tradition," as its been around for a long time. It will,
as usual, feature a variety of seminars and activities, designed to help participants explore their gender identity.
The seminars include a wide variety of topics, including: "Makeup 101," Wig Selection, Styling & Maintenance,” “Telling the Family,” and “Transgender Elders: Trans and Aging.”
Trained health professionals will also be on hand, as well, to disuss many issues, including Transsexualism.
Many activities are planned for Southern Comfort, like a cookout in Piedmont Park, as well as a shopping trip to North DeKalb Mall (both slated for September 30th). There's a pool party and talent show on October 1st.
The main banquet on October 2nd will feature Transgendered activist Calpernia Addams as the keynote speaker.
A first-ever "Film Festival" is also on the agenda.
